Rachel Prior is a multi-media artist who combines traditional fine art media with domestic craft and found objects. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Studio Art at Whitworth University, where she discovered her love of altering relief prints with paint, collage, and other materials to make unique individual pieces. Her current work frequently uses relief printing and silk screen on fabric to be enhanced with embroidery or sewn into household objects like throw pillows. 

            Born and raised in the suburbs of Seattle, she was a shy and deeply sensitive child who struggled to communicate her vivid internal experience with others. Now, her work uses the intimate setting of the home, along with an obsessive attention to detail and her own idea of visual perfection to bring her intense inner world to physical being.
